Tonalid

Tonalid brings a sweet, musky, powdery, and warm character, but the material does not remain fixed there. Given time, clean fabric, soft amber, and a persistent cosmetic trace becomes more apparent, changing how it sits beside the rest of the formula.

Within musk accords, florals, woods, laundry-style fragrances, soaps, and warm bases, it is most useful when asked to smooth the base, extend its presence, and soften transitions between louder materials. With Tonalid, the musk & powder effect is most useful when it strengthens the intended accord rather than drawing attention to the raw material itself.

The useful window closes once the material begins to feel heavy, flat, or overly powdery. A blotter establishes direction, but the finished base shows whether Tonalid is supporting the formula or beginning to obscure it.
