Description
The defining feature of Linalyl Acetate is its movement from fresh, sweet, floral, and bergamot-like to soft lavender, pear nuance, and clean herbal lift.
The material earns its place in lavender accords, bergamot effects, colognes, fougĆØres, soaps, and fresh florals by helping to connect fruity and floral facets while bringing brightness and recognisable character. With Linalyl Acetate, the lavender & air effect is most useful when it strengthens the intended accord rather than drawing attention to the raw material itself.
Build the level slowly; excess can blur its lavender & air effect and make it dominate the accord. A blotter establishes direction, but the finished base shows whether Linalyl Acetate is supporting the formula or beginning to obscure it.

Linalyl Acetate
CAS:Ā 115-95-7
Odour (decreasing): Bergamot-Lavender
Uses: Linalyl Acetate is very widely used in perfume compositions as a fresh and sweet modifier/blender and as an additive to compositions rich in Bergamot, Lavender, Lavandin, Petitgrain, and in fruity top note complexes. With esters of Citronellol and Geraniol, it may emphasise the effect of Bergamot oil, or it supports the fresh notes of citrus oils. The ester does not perform very well in soap unless very solidly fixed and it is quite sensitive to mild acid or mild alkali in presence of moisture.
