Description
Linalool begins with an impression of fresh, floral, citrusy, and softly woody. As the material settles, lavender-like petals, gentle herbs, and clean warmth becomes more apparent, giving the profile more depth than its first impact suggests.
Placed in lavender accords, citrus florals, soaps, lotions, shampoos, and fine fragrance, it can support the accordās floral or aromatic body and make its central idea read more clearly. With Linalool, the floral & fresh effect is most useful when it strengthens the intended accord rather than drawing attention to the raw material itself.
A measured addition keeps the effect articulate; too much may feel soapy, sharp, or overly familiar. A blotter establishes direction, but the finished base shows whether Linalool is supporting the formula or beginning to obscure it.

Uses: Linalool is used very extensively in perfume compositions of almost all types and price levels. Basically a floral material, and originally a Lily of the Valley (Muguet) ingredient, it is now used in countless floral types, and in Oriental, Ambre, aldehydic, herbaceous and many other fragrance types. It may even form part of a Citrus fragrance or a woody complex, a Lily, Muguet, Honeysuckle, Lilac, Sweet Pea, NeroIi, Appleblossom, Frangipanni, Freesia, Peony. Linalool should be the ingredient that gives the lift in an overall heavier composition.
