Description
Geraniol is a classic floral aroma material with a bright rose-like scent, clean geranium freshness, soft sweetness, and pale citrus-floral lift. It does not behave like full rose oil. Geraniol gives the impression of fresh rosy brightness, but without the deeper wax, honey, and petal complexity of natural rose materials.
Its role is to support the accordās floral or aromatic body and make its central idea read more clearly; that is particularly useful in rose accords, geranium effects, citrus florals, soaps, lotions, creams, shampoos, and fragrance blends.
Its limitation appears at higher levels, where the result can become sharp, soapy, or overly rosy.
