Description
Coumarin has a warm hay and tonka-like aroma with dry grass, vanilla, almond and a soft tobacco nuance. It balances sweetness with dryness, giving it more range than a straightforward vanilla material.
Perfumers use Coumarin to build warm body in fougĆØres, ambers, gourmands and tobacco accords. It can connect lavender to woods and balsams, soften transitions into sweeter notes, or establish a recognisable tonka-hay theme.
The powdery effect can accumulate quickly. Too much may flatten detail, feel overly dense or make the composition cloying. Add it progressively and judge it after the base has settled.
