Description
Benzyl Salicylate brings a soft, sweet, floral, and lightly balsamic character, but the material does not remain fixed there. Given time, warm solar petals with a smooth, persistent base note becomes more apparent, changing how it sits beside the rest of the formula.
Rather than acting as a finished fragrance, it can shape the floral body, improve diffusion, and connect petals to the surrounding accord, especially in white florals, solar accords, jasmine, ylang-style blends, soaps, lotions, and fragrance bases. With Benzyl Salicylate, the floral & warm effect is most useful when it strengthens the intended accord rather than drawing attention to the raw material itself.
Restraint preserves its role. An excessive dose can make the formula heavy, flat, or sunscreen-like. A blotter establishes direction, but the finished base shows whether Benzyl Salicylate is supporting the formula or beginning to obscure it.

Benzyl Salicylate is a clear almost colourless liquid that has a mild balsamic, sweetly floral note possessing excellent blending capabilities.
Uses: Often used for its cosmetic notes as a base for heavy florals such as Ylang Ylang, Gardenia, Jasmine and Lily. It is also used in functional products such as soap, shampoo and fabric softener.
