Description
Aldehyde C11 ENIC (Undecenal) begins with an impression of sharp, green, citrusy, and slightly metallic. As the material settles, waxy peel, leafy freshness, and a dry aldehydic trace becomes more apparent, giving the profile more depth than its first impact suggests.
Its role is to give the opening lift and definition while separating notes that might otherwise feel blurred; that is particularly useful in citrus accords, green florals, soaps, marine ideas, and modern fresh blends. Odour: Intensely soapy, aldehydic waxy and slightly effervescent orange citrus-like with a watermelon, pineapple and cilantro background.
A colourless, oily liquid, undecanal is a component of perfumes. Although it occurs naturally in citrus oils, it is produced commercially by hydroformylation of decene.
Uses: Among the most commonly used aldehydes for ā¬Åaldehydicā¬Ā effect. Often used with other aldehydes up to levels of a few percent. Trace amounts give rich natural floral effects.Ā Can be classified as bitter and fresh which can be used with great success in aldehydic colognes.
