Description

For citrus accords, colognes, florals, soaps, and fresh fragrance structures, formulators can use it to give the opening lift and definition while separating notes that might otherwise feel blurred. With Aldehyde C10 (Decanal), the orange & lift effect is most useful when it strengthens the intended accord rather than drawing attention to the raw material itself.
Dose is decisive: excess may push the material towards waxy, detergent-like, or overpowering. A blotter establishes direction, but the finished base shows whether Aldehyde C10 (Decanal) is supporting the formula or beginning to obscure it.

Aldehyde C10 is one of the most useful of the saturated aliphatic aldehydes: softer and easier to use than C8, it gives good floral reinforcement and is commonly used in combination with higher aldehydes.
Uses: An extremely important component in perfumery, this fatty aldehyde is used in floral blends such as rose, jasmine and iris, in aldehydic bouquets, and in citrus fragrances, where it enhances power and diffusion.
