Description

Turmeric Essential Oil has a warm earthy aroma with dry rhizome, woody spice, bitter root, and a faint ginger-like lift. It does not behave like curry powder. The essential oil is drier, woodier, and more botanical, with the root character sitting underneath the spice.

The first impression is warm and earthy, then the scent settles into dry wood and bitter spice. This makes Turmeric useful in soaps, body oils, massage blends, balms, natural perfumes, spice accords, and earthy botanical formulas with ginger, black pepper, cardamom, cedarwood, frankincense, patchouli, citrus, or resins.

Turmeric works best in controlled amounts. Used lightly, it gives root warmth and earthy depth. Used heavily, it can become muddy, dusty, bitter, or too culinary.

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
