Description

Thyme Red Essential Oil has a hot herbaceous aroma with sharp thyme leaf, phenolic spice, bitter warmth, and a strong medicinal edge. It does not behave like a soft culinary herb. Red Thyme is much more concentrated, more forceful, and far less forgiving than dried thyme.

The first impression is immediate and hot, then the scent settles into bitter herb and dry medicinal spice. This makes Red Thyme useful only in very careful low-dose work for soaps, cleansing-style blends, foot products, herbal accords, experimental perfumery, and formulas with rosemary, oregano, savory, tea tree, eucalyptus, lemon, cedarwood, pine, or spice.

Red Thyme needs serious restraint. Used lightly, it gives powerful herbal structure. Used heavily, it can become harsh, burning, bitter, medicinal, and overwhelming.

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
