Description
Orange Bitter Essential Oil has a fresh citrus aroma with zesty peel, dry pith, tart fruit, and a slightly bitter green edge. It does not behave like soft Sweet Orange. Bitter Orange feels cleaner, tighter, and less sugary, with a peel character that sits between orange sweetness and grapefruit-like tartness.
The first impression is bright and citrusy, then the scent settles into dry pith and bitter peel. This makes it useful in soaps, colognes, body oils, creams, room sprays, diffusers, natural perfumes, and citrus-floral blends with neroli, petitgrain, lavender, geranium, frankincense, spice, woods, or other citrus oils.
Bitter Orange works best when its edge is balanced. Used lightly, it gives orange structure. Used heavily, it can become sour, thin, bitter, or cleaner-like.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
