Description

Garlic Essential Oil has a powerful sulphurous aroma with hot allium bite, cooked garlic skin, bitter savoury heat, and a slightly metallic edge. It is not a soft spice oil and it does not blend politely. The first impression is immediate, loud, and unmistakably garlic.

Given a little time, the sharp allium force becomes more cooked, bitter, and lingering. This makes Garlic Essential Oil a specialist material for very careful low-dose work in experimental perfumery, savoury accords, speciality soaps, functional botanical blends, and unusual earthy or animalic compositions. It can give realism to cumin, celery seed, curry leaf, tobacco, leather, soil, and truffle-like effects.

Garlic Essential Oil must be used with serious restraint. A trace can add physical savoury depth. Too much becomes harsh, stale, sweaty, metallic, and overwhelmingly food-like.

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
