Natural Vitamin E is an oil-soluble antioxidant ingredient for formulations containing oils, butters and other oxidation-sensitive materials. Its purpose is to support the oil phase, helping slow the changes in odour, colour and quality that can occur through oxidation.

The material is viscous and should be blended evenly. Depending on the grade and process, gentle warming may improve handling, but the full formula and temperature sensitivity of other ingredients should be considered.

Vitamin E is not a substitute for a suitable preservative in products containing water. Natural grades can also vary in form and declared potency, so the correct level should be determined from the specification for the supplied material rather than from the product name alone.
