Description
Spearmint Essential Oil has a sweet green mint aroma with fresh leaf, soft herbal coolness, mild sweetness, and a clean mint finish. It does not behave like peppermint. Spearmint is less icy, less mentholic, and more leaf-sweet, which makes it easier in formulas where mint freshness should not feel harsh.
The first impression is bright and green, then the scent settles into soft sweetness and mild herbal coolness. This makes Spearmint useful in soaps, shower gels, lip products, body care, hair care, diffusers, room sprays, mint accords, and blends with peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon, lime, lavender, rosemary, basil, or tea tree.
Spearmint works best when its sweetness is balanced. Used lightly, it gives friendly mint lift. Used heavily, it can become candy-like, toothpaste-like, thin, or overly sweet.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
