Description
Lovage Leaf Essential Oil has a strong savoury-green aroma with celery leaf, dry herb, soft spice, pale wood, and a warm aromatic edge. It does not behave like a gentle leafy herb. Lovage is more forceful, more culinary, and more unusual, with a celery-like identity that appears quickly even at low levels.
The first impression is green and savoury, then the scent settles into drier herb and faint wood. This makes Lovage Leaf useful in speciality soaps, savoury accords, herbal perfumes, botanical body oils, earthy blends, and experimental natural perfumery where a formula needs raw green realism rather than prettiness.
Lovage Leaf needs careful dosing. Used lightly, it gives botanical bite and celery-leaf freshness. Used heavily, it can become bitter, briny, stale, or too soup-like.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
