AHA Fruit Acids is a pre-combined acidic raw material designed for formulators who want an alpha-hydroxy acid system without building the blend from separate components. That convenience makes the supplier specification especially important: the name alone does not identify the exact acids, active concentration or carrier.

In a finished formulation, the blend may influence pH, viscosity, colour and compatibility. Add it gradually, allow the batch to mix completely and evaluate the final system after equilibration.

This material should not be treated as interchangeable with every other fruit-acid blend. Verify its composition, recommended process, use level and intended applications from the documentation supplied with the product, then validate the finished formula.

Details

AHA fruit acid is a concentrated blend of five botanical extracts: bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange, and lemon. These extracts contain several naturally occurring alpha hydroxy acids. The material contains the following concentrations of alpha hydroxy acids:

Lactic Acid 28-32%

Glycolic Acid 12-17%

Citric Acid 2-6%

Malic Acid 1% max

Tartaric Acid 1% max

Alpha hydroxy acids have been shown to promote smoother, younger looking skin by increasing the rate of cell renewal.

Properties: Sheds off the outermost layer of skin cells (corneocytes), induces renewal of a skin cell layer, increases the moisturizing level of the skin which improves the flexibility of the upper skin layer.

Applications: Moisturizing creams, lotions, cream- gels, peeling gels.
