Description āÆ

Onion Essential Oil has a powerful savoury aroma with raw allium sharpness, sulphurous bite, watery green heat, cooked onion skin, and a faint metallic edge. It is not a soft spice oil and it does not blend politely. The first impression is immediate, recognisable, and very easy to overuse.

Later, the raw onion brightness becomes more cooked, bitter, and lingering. This makes Onion Essential Oil a specialist material for very careful low-dose work in experimental perfumery, savoury accords, speciality soaps, earthy blends, functional botanical formulas, and unusual compositions using cumin, celery seed, garlic, curry leaf, leather, soil, tobacco, or truffle-like effects.

Onion Essential Oil needs serious restraint. A trace can add savoury realism. Too much becomes stale, sweaty, metallic, kitchen-like, and difficult to soften.

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
