Description

Manuka Essential Oil has an earthy herbaceous aroma with warm leaf, sweet wood, dry earth, and a mild medicinal trace. It sits near tea tree and kanuka, but feels darker, warmer, and less sharp than tea tree.

The first impression is clean and plant-like, then the scent settles into a sweet earthy-woody base that gives formulas more body. This makes Manuka useful in balms, creams, soaps, body oils, beard products, diffusers, massage blends, botanical formulas, and blends with lavender, eucalyptus, kanuka, cedarwood, frankincense, citrus, rosemary, or tea tree.

Manuka works best when used as a warm botanical support. Used lightly, it gives depth and a clean herbal residue. Used heavily, it can become muddy, musty, overly medicinal, or too earthy.

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
