Description
Hyssop Essential Oil has a fresh herbaceous aroma with green lift, pale camphor, dry wood, and a faint bitter edge. It does not smell like a soft floral herb. Hyssop feels cleaner, sharper, and more functional, sitting somewhere between green herb, light mint, sage, and gentle eucalyptus.
The first impression is fresh and airy, then the scent settles into dry herb and woody bitterness. This makes Hyssop useful in soaps, lotions, massage blends, diffusers, natural perfumes, herbal accords, cleansing-style products, and blends with citrus, lavender, rosemary, sage, cedarwood, cypress, or mint.
Hyssop needs restraint. Used lightly, it gives blends clean herbal definition. Used heavily, it can become sharp, medicinal, bitter, or too old-fashioned herbal.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
