Description
Gurjun Balsam Essential Oil has a soft woody aroma with balsamic resin, faint sweetness, damp wood, and an oily warm depth. It does not behave like frankincense or elemi, which open brighter and more citrus-resinous. Gurjun sits lower, smoother, and heavier.
The first impression is woody and resinous, then the scent settles into a warm balsamic base that helps surrounding materials feel more connected. This makes it useful in natural perfumes, soaps, balms, oud-style blends, woody bases, incense accords, resinous diffusions, and compositions using cedarwood, patchouli, vetiver, spice, citrus, smoke, or leather notes.
Gurjun Balsam works best in support. Used lightly, it gives blends a thicker woody base and quiet persistence. Used heavily, it can become oily, dull, heavy, or resin-flat.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
