Description

Catnip Essential Oil has an earthy green herbal aroma with subdued mint, dry grass, and a faint tobacco-like undertone. It does not smell like peppermint, spearmint, or a clean herbal tea. The first impression is rougher and more plant-like, with a slightly harsh green edge that makes the oil feel wild rather than polished.

As the scent develops, Catnip becomes sweeter, grassier, and more hay-like. This gives it an unusual place in natural perfumery, herbal diffusions, soaps, outdoor-style blends, and botanical formulas where a clean herb note would feel too predictable.

Catnip works best when its strangeness is allowed to stay visible. Used lightly, it gives blends green body and a slightly feral herbal residue. Used too heavily, it can become muddy, bitter, and awkward, leaving the formula feeling more animal than fresh.

Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
