Description
Basil Chavicol Essential Oil (Organic) has a sharp green aroma with sweet basil leaf, aniseed spice, liquorice warmth, and dry herbal bite. It does not behave like Basil Linalool. Chavicol basil is more pointed, sweeter, and more aromatic, with a Thai-basil-like quality that can push a blend toward food if used too heavily.
The first impression is green, bright, and spicy. Later, the scent becomes drier and more liquorice-like, leaving a basil-anise residue that works well in soaps, room sprays, diffusers, natural perfumes, herbal accords, spice blends, and formulas with lime, lemon, bergamot, coriander, fennel, tarragon, rosemary, lavender, cedarwood, or ginger.
Organic status supports sourcing expectations, not a different scent. Used heavily, Basil Chavicol can become medicinal, food-like, sweet-liquorice, or too sharp.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
