Description
Litsea Cubeba Essential Oil, also known as May Chang, has an intensely fresh lemon aroma with fruity sweetness, dry citral brightness, and faint spicy undertones. It does not behave like cold pressed lemon peel, and it is less grassy than lemongrass. The effect is more lemon-sherbet: bright, sweet, clean, and immediately recognisable.
The first impression is lively and fruity, then the scent settles into a drier citrus trace with soft spice underneath. This makes Litsea useful in soaps, room sprays, diffusers, candles, cleaning-style blends, fresh body products, citrus accords, and blends with woods, patchouli, lavender, palmarosa, ginger, and florals.
Litsea needs restraint. Used lightly, it gives sweet lemon lift. Used heavily, it can become sharp, soapy, candy-like, or too cleaner-obvious.
Essential oils can be applied topically once diluted with a carrier oil. They are widely used in cosmetic goods and handmade crafts.
